Join Metro NY NOIAW members for an afternoon of theater from Italy with a riveting first-person account of the true story of Giuseppe “Joe” Zangara, an Italian immigrant who tried to assassinate President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. My Idea-Memory of Joe Zangara is written and directed by Ernesto Orrico, music by Massimo Garritano and produced by Zahir (Calabria).

After the production, join NOIAW for a private reception with the artists. Wine and afternoon delights will be offered.

In Scena! is an Italian Theater Festival in NY created in 2013 and is the first Italian Theater Festival to take place in all five boroughs and beyond. Organized by Kairos Italy Theater and Laura Caparrotti, founding artistic director, it showcases Italian theatrical works by established and emerging companies from Italy and the United States. The Festival’s aim is to strengthen the bonds between the two countries, to share and present the best of Italy’s rich literary and linguistic heritage and to promote greater awareness of Italian theater and Italian artists. Whether they are dramatic or comedic, these productions have the power to cross cultures and borders uniting people of all backgrounds. All the productions have already toured in Italy.

Gentlemen always welcome.
