After the presentation, members and friends can join us for a private dinner with the author. Dinner will include a 3-course meal with wine (includes gratuities) for $75.00 per person.

Sara Forden is a writer and editor based in Washington, D.C. who specializes in stories that involve big business and big personalities. An editor with Bloomberg News, she leads a team of high-performing reporters based between Washington and New York who are charged with digging out stories on financial enforcement and white collar crime.

Sara lived in Milan, Italy, for 22 years, reporting on the explosion of fashion brands such as Armani, Prada and Versace into global megabrands. She authored the best-seller “The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour and Greed,” published by Harper Collins in 2000. Oscar-winning director Ridley Scott has optioned the book for a movie.

During her time in Italy, Sara also wrote about other front-page business topics, including Fiat’s bid to turn around Chrysler and the dizzying implosion of Italian dairy giant Parmalat. She launched an Italian women’s magazine LUNA, wrote weekly columns on the state of the luxury goods industry Italian daily Milano Finanza Fashion (MFF) and was a regular commentator on Class TV.

Sara was born in Frankfurt, Germany, and has lived in Argentina, Poland and Mexico, in addition to Italy. She has an MA in Economics and International Affairs from the Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies and a BA in English from Mount Holyoke College.
