Lilla Accolla is the VP, Strategic Project Manager at Lenox Advisors, Inc. She is a first generation Italian American. Her father, John, is a retired barber from Sicily and her mother, Rita, is a retired seamstress from Naples. Lilla was born in White Plains, NY and raised in the Bronx and Westchester County. She credits her parents’ work ethic as the backbone of her success. Janeen Babuini-Lepore is the CEO of Peace Co. Health and a Certified Hollistic Health and Wellness Coach where she educates and inspires busy women to come back home to themselves and find inner peace through real foods and simple methods of self care, nutrition and some of Nonna’s secret recipes! She has been a New York City Foreign Language Italian Public School Teacher for the past 11 years and is now based in Westchester. She is a lover of travel, adventure, belly laughs, deep breaths, Spaghetti ai ricci di mare, the mountains – especially Carisolo, Val Rendena (TN), the Mediterranean, and Italian everything. Fiorella DiCarlo is the Founder, Registered Dietitian, and Food and Nutrition Expert at FiorellaEats.com. She has a private practice in New York City where she specializes in the treatment of eating disorders and weight management. A TV/Media Dietitian, Fiorella creates cooking videos based on healthy Italian eating. Her video series, Living in Italian celebrates Italian food and Italian lifestyle as healthy and medicinal. Nancy DiFiore Quinn is the Assistant Fund Manager at Road Carriers Local 707 Welfare & Pension Fund. She served as the first female State President of the New York Grand Lodge, Order Sons & Daughters of Italy in America. Currently she is serving as the National 2nd Vice President of that organization. Always the consummate volunteer, Nancy has been serving the Italian American community and the community at large for over 40 years.
Heather Vicari Spinelli is an editor/producer for The CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley and a third generation Italian American. Heather’s family emigrated from Sicily; her grandfather from Lercara Friddi and great grandmother from Mazara del Vallo. Heather grew up on Long Island and began studying television production in high school. She got her start interning at PBS WLIW channel 21 and proceeded to work as a freelance video editor, chyron operator and camera person all over Long Island and New York City during and after college. Heather says, “In this male dominated field the glass ceiling was thick and during that time I turned down many jobs not offering equal pay.” Heather is an award-winning editor whose work was recently nominated for an Emmy. She lives in New York City with her husband and young son.
Gilda Morina Syverson is an author, educator & speaker for Divine Phoenix Books & Pegasus Books. She is the author of the memoir My Father’s Daughter, From Rome to Sicily. A long-time leader of workshops on memoir writing, Syverson has also published two poetry books, Facing the Dragon and In This Dream Everything Remains Inside. After a career in international business that began in 1981 working in both the private and public sectors, Antoinette (Allegretti) Vazquez founded her own U.S.-based company in 1993 with operations headquartered in Mexico City. TMS provided a variety of trade, tourism, investment and promotion services throughout Mexico and Latin America to a portfolio of U.S. clients that included several U. S. state government agencies, U.S. Dept. of Commerce, small and mid-size companies, Port Authorities, Economic Development Agencies, Chambers of Commerce and Universities. July 1, 2005 the Mexico City office was closed and its assets were acquired by the former professional staff of Trade Management Services who formed a Mexican company, Business Development Partners, S.A. de C.V. which continues to serve many of TMS’s former clients to this day.
