Dr. Aileen R. Sirey Featured in Grandparents and Grandchildren in Italian America

NOIAW’s Founder and Chair Emerita, Dr. Aileen Riotto Sirey, was featured in a recent television project produced by i-Italy in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. “Grandparents and Grandchildren in Italian America (Nonni e nipoti nell’America Italiana)” explores the relationship between different generations and is narrated firsthand by Italians in America.

The other grandparents and grandchildren included in the project are NOIAW Founding Distinguished Board Member Matilda Raffa Cuomo and Amanda Cole; Joseph Tusiani and Paola Tusiani; Rosaria Liuzzo and Maria Sparacino; and John P. Calvelli and John D. Calvelli.

The program debuted at the Italian Consulate on June 2nd as part of the celebration of Festa della Repubblica. Participants in the program and interviews are pictured above with Consul General Francesco Genuardi (kneeling.) The full conversations will air on i-Italy during the course of this summer.
