Our panelists, enterprising Italian American women, will share their insights, motivations, and tips with you in an engaging, informal question and answer format.

She has been featured in The New York Times, Travel Channel, Dance Magazine, USA TODAY, and American Express. Mickela now offers Bare Feet® Dance Tours, dance-focused itineraries based on the TV series, for travelers to join her in various destinations around the globe. She is also the Director of the Women’s Travel Fest, an annual conference whose mission is to inspire, empower, educate, and connect women through travel. Joan Pelzer is a third generation Sicilian-New Yorker (well she is also German and Irish on her Dad’s side, but we won’t talk about that)! Joan is an entrepreneur and connector, and helps create relationships not just connections as CEO & President of Joan Pelzer Social. As a social media expert and online engagement strategist, Joan works with clients ranging from entrepreneurs and small businesses, to an Italian restaurant in Brooklyn to a UN-based NGO. Joan is also President of the NYC Chapter of Femfessionals – an innovative business community for women. Joan co-hosts a weekly radio show, 21st Century Entrepreneur Radio on Talking Alternative Broadcasting. Joan holds an MBA in Finance and International Business from Fordham University Graduate School of Business and is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer – Russia (yup she speaks Russian but her Grandma wouldn’t let her learn Italian – ask her why!).
For Sicilian-American Cassandra Santoro, a love of Italy started early. She moved to Florence after her father’s untimely passing from cancer and there found the true meaning of la dolce vita. Since living and working abroad, she has led countless tours, obtained dual-citizenship and started Travel Italian Style in order to share the joys of the Italian good life with others. As a personal trip planner and luxury small group tour operator, Cassandra is known for creating authentic and enriching vacations for those passionate about their Italian heritage, dreaming of experiencing Italy like a local, or for women looking to find themselves through travel. Cassandra currently lives between New York City and Florence, Italy and is working on her first book about her Italian travels.
Amy Peloso is a Certified Life Coach and Chief Visionary and Client Advisor at The Queen Bee NYC. She’s on a mission to connect people with their purpose and give them the clarity, confidence and courage to fulfill it. She acts as a sounding board, supporter and steady guide for those looking to manage change and transformation in their careers and lives.
