RECAP: Greater New York Region Epiphany Celebration 1/13/16

On Wednesday, January 13, 2016, NOIAW’s Greater New York Region held an Epiphany Celebration honoring Three Wise Women at Columbus Citizens Foundation in New York City. Congratulations to our three inspiring and accomplished Italian American Wise Women: Donna Corrado, Ph.D., LCSW, Commissioner, NYC Department for the Aging; Carin Guarasci, Professor of Education & Director of New Educators, Wagner College; and Sue Matthews, President, Conquering Kidz Cancer.

MaryRose Barranco Morris, Ed.D., President of the Greater New York Region and Founder and Coordinator of the Staten Island Network, welcomed over one hundred guests to the event. Remarks were made by Maria Tamburri, Chair of the National Board; Hon. Natalia Quintavalle, the Consul General of Italy in New York; and Nicole Pandolfo, 2013 NOIAW Scholarship Recipient.

Also in attendance were NOIAW Founder and Chair Emerita Aileen Riotto Sirey, Ph.D.; National Board Members Mary Ann Mattone, Hon. Angela Mazzarelli, and Maria T. Vullo; and Council Members Amy Cococcia, Julianne Recine, Allison Scola, Joann Sicoli and Carolann Trotta.

As always, it was a beautiful event. A group of lucky winners walked home with a fantastic set of silent auction prizes!
