On Thursday, September 10th the Greater Washington, DC Region gathered in the library of NIAF’s Peter F. Secchia Building for A Conversation with  Dr. Cindy Gueli, Author of Lipstick Brigade. Gueli’s book, Lipstick Brigade: The Untold True Story of Washington’s World War II Government Girls, explores the group of women that took on roles as federal stenographers, typists, code breakers, analysts, and spies in Washington during World War II. Guests enjoyed refreshments as they listened to her interactive presentation showcasing the moving stories of these women.

You may recognize Gueli from an article by John Kelly published on September 8th in The Washington Post that deals with her new book and the lasting effect these government gals had on Washington politics.
