16 Mar Recap: Celebrate Festa della Donna and Learn How to Hand Make Ravioli 3/9/15
On Monday, March 9 2105 Connecticut Region members and friends celebrated International Women’s Day, called Festa Della Donna in Italy. Guests gathered at the Chef’s Equipment Emporium in Orange, CT to learn the art of hand making ravioli. Instead of giving each guest a mimosa flower, the traditional gift given on this day, we thought it more appropriate to sip on mimosas!
In the class everyone learned how to make 3 different types of ravioli: 4-cheese ravioli with pomodoro sauce, mushroom ravioli with light cream sauce, and butternut squash ravioli with butter sage sauce. Yumm-o! Guests dined on what they made and took home their leftover handmade ravioli. For dessert they had lemon gelato and cappuccino.
